The 5th All-Russian Regional Energy Policy Conference started on June 15 at the Melentyev Energy Systems Institute SB RAS brought together expert professionals from Moscow, Ulan-Ude, Chita, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Khabarovsk, Saratov, Krasnoyarsk, and Tomsk.

The Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics SB RAS is represented by a team of researchers from the Center of Energy Resources and Economics.


 

V.Yu. Nemov, I.V. Provornaya, A.A. Kartashevich, I.V. Filimonova

The online presentations of IPGG SB RAS’s representatives have been prepared by V.Yu. Nemov, Ph.D. (Econ.), and I.V. Provornaya, Ph.D. (Econ.), on the resilience of oil export supply chains in the face of new geopolitical challenges; and by A.A. Kartashevich and I.V. Filimonova, DSc (Econ.), about their approach to cost estimates for major gas infrastructure projects in Siberia, taking into account specified gasification targets.

During the conference, the participants also share their opinions and views in consideration of the challenges and opportunities for energy development in Asian parts of Russia, with the key topics focused on:

  • - discussing pathways for economic viability in the energy sector;
  • - enhancing the resilience of oil supply through the system diversification and flexibility;
  • - joint decision-making by maintaining links between scientific knowledge and government decisions, to benefit region’s resilient energy system.
