Два года назад ушёл из жизни выдающийся учёный, государственный деятель академик РАН Алексей Эмильевич Конторович (28.01.1934 – 24.10.2023). Масштаб его личности и деяний как исследователя, крупного организатора науки и педагога высшей школы впечатляет и восхищает.
Алексей Эмильевич занимался фундаментальными исследованиями в области геологии и геохимии нефти и газа, теории нафтидогенеза. Наряду с этим А.Э. Конторович внёс крупный вклад в научное обоснование и создание сырьевой базы нефтяной и газовой промышленности Западной Сибири, Восточной Сибири, Республики Саха (Якутия), арктической зоны России. Неоценима его роль в разработке «Стратегии экономического развития Сибири», «Энергетической стратегии России» и многих других документов государственного значения.
Академик Конторович был организатором и директором Института геологии нефти и газа СО РАН, затем – Института нефтегазовой геологии и геофизики им. А.А. Трофимука СО РАН; научным руководителем и главным научным сотрудником; руководителем научного направления геологии ИНГГ СО РАН.
Алексей Эмильевич активно участвовал в подготовке кадров геологов-нефтяников в Новосибирском государственном университете, где он долгие годы возглавлял кафедру геологии месторождений нефти и газа; читал лекции во многих российских университетах, а также вузах и компаниях зарубежных стран. Академик Конторович подготовил десятки кандидатов и докторов наук. Среди его учеников – члены Российской академии наук, Китайской академии наук, Академии наук Узбекистана.
До самых последних дней А.Э. Конторович продолжал активно и эффективно трудиться на благо российской и мировой науки, на благо России. Многочисленные ученики и последователи Алексея Эмильевича продолжают развивать заложенные им направления – как в ИНГГ СО РАН, так и во многих других научных организациях.
