The International Conference “Subsoil Use. Achievements and technologies in mineral mining, prospecting, exploration and development. Economics of the oil and gas industry. Geoecology” hosted by the Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences was opened on May 19. The event is held within the framework of the XXI International Exhibition and Scientific Congress “Interexpo GEO-Siberia 2025” from May 19 to 23.

More than 100 presentations by scientists and professionals from different cities of Russia and other countries (e.g. Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Moscow, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Salekhard, Kaliningrad, Magadan, Ulan-Ude, Tomsk, Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan)) are scheduled in the conference program.

The speakers represent academic institutions, universities and industrial organizations. Their presentations will cover the most relevant topics of geosciences, including: current status and prospects of mineral prospecting, exploration and development in Siberia; geological, geophysical and geochemical methods in prospecting and exploration of mineral resources; geotechnologies; geoecology; economics of the subsoil use.

At the plenary session, the conference participants were welcomed by the Director of IPGG SB RAS, Vyacheslav Glinskikh, RAS Corr. Member, Academician Mikhail Epov, Scientific Director of IPGG SB RAS, Vladimir Kashirtsev, RAS Corr. Member, Principal research scientists at IPGG SB RAS, and Nikolay Kruk, RAS Corr. Member, Director of the Sobolev Institute of Geology and Mineralogy, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IGM SB RAS).
