​Проблема авторства в последние годы привлекает пристальное внимание экспертов различной специализации, имеющих отношение к научно-издательской деятельности. Это и сами ученые, и сотрудники редакционных коллегий журналов, и руководящие сотрудники научных издательств, и специалисты различных советов по научной этике. Достоверность фактического участия исследователя в создании научного продукта, интеллектуальной собственности важна при принятии решений о трудоустройстве, должностном повышении, распределении финансирования, при рассмотрении заявок на гранты и договорные работы, поскольку будущие результаты работы оцениваемого исследователя будут напрямую зависеть от его реального, а не фиктивного научного опыта. Особенно важны результаты анализа авторства публикаций в области медико-биологических наук, поскольку результаты работы специалистов в этой сфере напрямую влияют на уровень здравоохранения и благополучия граждан, отчего именно к авторству публикаций в этих дисциплинах уделяется повышенное внимание.

С ростом значимости авторства в оценке продуктивности исследователей увеличивается число случаев недобросовестного поведения ученых в отношении авторства. При этом среди многих форм недобросовестного поведения ученых проблема авторства является одной из наиболее значимых. Выявление таких неприемлемых типов авторства, как гостевое, подарочное или невидимое, при которых в публикацию либо фиктивно добавляются люди, не имеющие отношения к исследованию, либо, напротив, не указываются ученые, проводившие исследование, является одной из приоритетных задач научного сообщества для сохранения и поддержания принципов добросовестности при проведении научной работы и опубликовании ее результатов. В особенности сказанное актуально для отечественной науки, где, по данным литературы, уровень плагиата, дублирования результатов в нескольких публикациях, спрос на публикации в недобросовестных журналах и другие неприемлемые виды проведения научной работы остается более высоким в сравнении с другими развитыми странами.

Проект направлен на создание библиометрической модели выявления недобросовестных типов авторства, в основе которой лежит наблюдение, что резкие изменения в публикационной активности авторов часто указывают на его недобросовестное участие в публикации и, как правило, фиктивное участие в самом научном исследовании. В частности это резкий рост числа публикаций, существенные изменения в числе и составе соавторов, изменение числа тематических рубрик в публикациях ученого, изменение позиции ученого в строке для авторов, изменение ранга журналов. Проводимый в рамках проекта комплексный библиометрический анализ ряда описанных изменений, а также их сопоставление с определенными событиями в карьерной траектории исследователя дают возможность выявить общие закономерности реального и фиктивного участия авторов в научных публикациях. Конкретные алгоритмы выявления возможных нарушений публикационной этики в отношении авторства, запланированные к реализации в конце проекта, будут полезны редакторам журналов при работе с рукописями, а также лицам, ответственным за принятие решений по финансированию проектов, должностному продвижению сотрудников и прочим случаям, где ведется оценка по формальным критериям числа научных публикаций.
