В экспозиции представлены ископаемые из собрания Центра коллективного пользования «Коллекция ГЕОХРОН» Института нефтегазовой геологии и геофизики им. А.А. Трофимука СО РАН. Посетители выставки попадают в удивительный мир палеонтологической истории нашей планеты: возраст окаменелостей достигает сотен миллионов лет.
В день открытия увлекательную экскурсию для детей и взрослых провела Ольга Алексеевна Родина – ведущий инженер ЦКП «Коллекция ГЕОХРОН».

Двустворчатые моллюски, трилобиты, рыбы карбона и растения перми – возраст этих и многих других находок поражает воображение. Так, каменноугольный период (карбон) начался 358 млн лет назад, а последовавший за ним пермский – 298 млн лет назад. Экскурсанты не могли удержаться, чтобы не сфотографировать такую древность.

Юных посетителей выставки больше всего заинтересовали аммоноидеи и белемниты – последние виды этих головоногих моллюсков вымерли 66 млн лет назад.

Все эти экспонаты – лишь небольшая часть фондов ЦКП «Коллекция ГЕОХРОН». Каждый полевой сезон ученые привозят из экспедиций новые образцы окаменевшей флоры и фауны, которую затем изучают и классифицируют.

Выставка будет работать в Доме ученых СО РАН (Академгородок, Новосибирск) до 17 октября.
