Abstract
Gas hydrates are clathrates where gas molecules fill structural voids in the crystal lattice formed by water molecules. Under natural conditions, hydrates can form in gas and oil fields under certain thermobaric conditions. These deposits are in a metastable state. At insignificant change of thermobaric conditions their dissociation occurs. This may be one of the causes of technogenic accidents in the process of drilling production boreholes. Mathematical modelling allows to analyze the behavior of physical systems, as well as to obtain a qualitative and quantitative understanding of the process of hydrate decomposition in a permeable formation. For this purpose, phenomenological models using homogenized physical parameters are applied. In this paper, we propose a numerical method for mathematical modelling the process of methane hydrate dissociation in hydrate-saturated reservoir. We take in account an information of homogenized physical properties of sedimentary rock using laboratory measurements and results of X-ray microtomography of cores.
