Abstract

The oil-wet core samples from wells of the Usinskoye oilfield are investigated by a combination of methods. The elemental (mineralogical) composition of the samples is determined via X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence analysis. The content of organic matter in the natural core material is determined by the method of continuous extraction using a Soxhlet apparatus. Wettability of the reservoir core samples from the Permo-Carboniferous deposit of the Usinskoye oilfield is determined by two independent methods. A contact angle of 89 upon the selective wetting of core surface has been determined by the capillary absorption method and calculated by Juren formula.
