Abstract
One of the personality traits of a person that characterizes one's behavior in society and focusing attention on oneself are autistic personality traits, which show to what extent the behavior of a neurotypical (non-clinical) subject resembles the behavior of a subject with a clinical diagnosis of autism. The aim of the study was to validate the Russian version of a well-known original Broad Autism Phenotype Questionnaire, which allows to quantitatively determine the level of autistic personality traits of the subjects. The study involved 154 participants aged 12 to 63 years who were not diagnosed with autism (Nfemale=99, Nmale=55). Cronbach's alpha (0.860) indicated the high internal consistency of the subscales of the Russian version of the Broad Autism Phenotype Questionnaire. Using Pearson's r coefficients, reliable positive correlations were observed between the scores of the Russian version of original Broad Autism Phenotype Questionnaire and the scores on depression (r=0.32, p<0.001), anxiety (r=0.47, p<0.001), and individualism (r=0,16, p<0.05) scales, as well as a negative correlation with extroversion (r=-0.58, p<0.001), emotional stability (r=-0.32, p<0.001) and collectivism (r=-0.24, p<0.001) scales. As a result of the analysis of statistical parameters of the data, it was shown that the Russian version of the Broad Autism Phenotype Questionnaire allows one to reliably determine the level of autistic personality traits in neurotypical subjects.
