A new approach offered by authors to detecting accumulation and circulation sites of free methane isbased on seismic sounding of a zone in the course of its stress-strain state alteration, which provides selective detection of anisotropic zones highly sensitive to geomechanical impact. The article describes numerical experiments and the experience of using the modern seismic-tomography algorithm of data processing.
