Abstract
Leaching experiment to simulate water-waste interaction was conducted using waste materials of Komsomolsky gold processing plant. The experiment allowed us to describe the geochemistry of acidity formation and of trace elements leaching, to identify the physico-chemical parameters of drainage and chemical species of elements. It was proved that drainage with subalkaline pH values are danger due to high concentrations of As up to 0.21 mg/l, Sb up to 10 mg/l, Be up to 0.14 mg/l. It is shown by thermodynamic calculations that main dissolved species for Al, Fe, and Mn, which precipitated by hydrolysis are Al(OH)4 -, Fe(OH)3aq, Mn2+. The MeCO3aq are the predominant species for Cu at pH<8.08 and Ni.
