Abstract
The work studied the supergene behavior of barium during the evolution of a technogenic wastes on example of sulfide tailings of the Salair Ridge. Based on mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of tailings, the formation of authigenic barite is suggested and the Ba sources in the water-rock system are assessed.
