Abstract
For the first time the results of a quantitative assessment of petroleum potential of regional reservoirs have been presented. These are Oxfordian, Bathoian, Aalenian-Bajocian, Toarcian, Pliensbachian, and Hettangian-Sinemurian reservoirs of the Jurassic oil and gas megacomplex in northern Western Siberia and the Kara Sea water area. The distribution of initial total hydrocarbon resources is considered by oil- and gas-bearing areas, phase composition and resource categories. It is shown that most of them are attributed to the forecast category. The largest oil and gas exploration objects have been distinguished.
