Abstract
The detailed layer-by-layer investigation mainly of sub-horizontal sections enabled to establish for the first time for Gorny Altai territory the presence in quaternary sediment cuts of deformational structures genetically related to paleoseismic events. The conducted analysis resulted in identification of the main morphological types of seismites characteristic for investigated sections, obtaining the proofs of their seismogenic origin and determining of factors affecting their formation process.
