Abstract

This paper substantiates the necessity of using geophysical methods in geocryological monitoring to study the conditions of permafrost rock occurrence, search for taliks and cryopegs, and determine the physical and mechanical properties of frozen rocks. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods and examples of their use for solving geocryological problems are described both in natural conditions and in the impact zone of buildings and engineering structures.
