Аннотация

The main concept of stratigraphy is the stratigraphic subdivision, straton.A straton is a continuous formation of the bed layer system revealed in geological sections by different methods. The traditional "classical" method is the biostratigraphic one, which allows for the identification of geological systems (Permian, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, etc.), sections, layers, zones and other stratons of an international scale. At present, methods based on sedimentary cyclicity, which have many names such as "Cyclostratigraphy," "Sequence Stratigraphy," "Lythmo-Stratigraphy," "Climate Stratigraphy," "Quaternary Stratigraphy," are widely used all over the world. The most typical names of the Cyclostratons are synthema, cyclothema, sequence, and cyclite.According to their classifications, Cyclostatons and Biostratons are equally important. These are correlating stratons, in contrast to the formations and suites of other Lythmostratons, which are considered secondary and are generally used for mapping. Based on these principles, this new version of straton classification is suggested.
