Аннотация

A new find of eurypterids in the North-Minusa region near the railway station Shira is documented. It is confined to the Aramchak Formation, the Lower Devonian. Earlier, only plant remains were established in this formation. Carbonate occurences (rounded elliptic "rolls") are described in the section of the Aramchak formation section. Similar carbonate occurences with eurypterids are determined at the same stratigraphic level in Novaya Zemlya. Oolites and oncolites were separated under chemical preparation from rocks hosting eurypterids and carbonate "rolls". These oolites and oncolites suggest extremely shallow forming conditions of the deposit studied. It is noted that the Emsian water transgression penetrated from the Altai-Salair paleobasin water area not only to the South-Minusa but to the central part of the North-Minusa as ingressions along narrow bays and straits.
