Аннотация

Ventogyrus chistyakovi gen. et sP. noV. is described as the new representative of enigmatic Late Vendian metazoan group Petalonamae. Remains of Ventogyrus occur in only the strata, that were formed as a result of infilling the erosional pots on sea bottom. The burial of ventogyruses was demonstrated to be in situ in life position. Ventogyrus is preserved as external casts of upper side of the body, that formed a deep depression. Sometimes the imprints of distributary ducts and external covering of lower side of the body are present. The corpus was boat-shaped, the depression on upper side was divided into chambers by vertical baffles. Ventogyrus in reconstructed as immobile unitarial benthic organism. It is very similar to representatives of petalonamae Pteridinium Grich, 1933, especially to species Pteridinium nenoxa Keller, 1974 in preservations, morphology, and mode of life. Unlike Pteridinium, the sides Ventogyrus corpus were suppoted by median and two sternal baffles, sternal chamber was located in broader end, and there were additional baffles off median baffle.
