Аннотация

Flow regimes of pore fluid have been studied with due regard for the steam-water phase transition near cooling basaltic intrusions of dykes and sills within a sedimentary basin. The study was based on the Hydrotherm code simulating a one- or two-phase flow of the steam-water mixture depending on the phase state of the fluid. The results of calculations have permitted us to predict the beginning of convection depending on the type of intrusion, its location in the section of sedimentary basin, initial temperature, and physical parameters of the rocks. Patterns of evolution of temperature field and velocities of fluid flows in the sediments around cooling intrusions have been obtained. One of the conclusions concerned the possible secondary salination of oil reservoirs by means of convective mass transfer of a pore brine heated by basaltic intrusions.
