Paleogene and Neogene (Miocene) deposits are characterized palynologically. Vegetation formations for the Eocene and the Miocene optimums as well as climatic minimums of Early Oligocene and Middle Miocene are reconstructed. Distribution of vegetation over the territory is shown. The climate is assessed quantitatively (July, January, and mean annual temperature and precipitation). Deviations of climatic indices in Paleogene and Neogene are calculated from their recent values. The greatest deviations of July and January temperatures occurred at high latitudes (north of 66 degree). Obtained climatic indices are of great interest for prognostic scenarios for the 21st century.
