Hydro-geomechanical fields in borehole vicinity and stress-dependent permeability

The paper presents poroelastic and poroelastoplastic models to describe geomechanical and hydrodynamical fields in the environment of a vertical well made in a fluid-saturated formation, given that permeability k depends on effective stress s under exponential law. The analytical solutions obtained for the steady filtration mode are used as the basis to analyze pressure field and permeability at variable parameters characterizing function k(s). It is established that the well flow rate decrease against an increase in a horizontal component of the external stress field; the permeability in the irreversible deformation zone in the vicinity of the well used to decline with distance. The stand is manufactured for filtration tests in cylindrical specimens with a central hole loaded at side surface. The laboratory experiments are performed on specimens, made of artificial geomaterial. The interpretation of laboratory test results permit to determine numerical values of parameters of empirical dependence k(s).
