The paper presents the results of experimental and methodological seismic works at the Chulmakan coal field of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in order to select the optimal method for clarifying the general geological structure at the research area, to identify low-thickness coal seams, to study the peculiarities of their structure, and to identify tectonic faults. According to data from the joint interpretation of reflected and first-time refracted waves supported by the well materials, the strike parameters of low-thickness coal seams were confidently traced and clarified, and a series of tectonic irregularities not detected by drilling were identified.
