Calculation of gravity stress in the medium on retention of the set geometry

In the paper, we propose an algorithm for calculating the stress state of a modeled region of a geomedium under gravity on retention of the set surface relief and geometry of heterogeneities. The algorithm is based on the iterative recovery of the deformed computational grid to the initial position. The developed algorithm is tested on elastic and elastoplastic models. The calculation results show that the developed algorithm provides a retention of the relief and geometrical structure of the medium or their minimum distortion at both elastic and elastoplastic behavior of the medium. The difference of the stress states derived with the medium subsidence and for the actual geometry is shown. The use of the algorithm requires that the medium is in the stable state.
