Аннотация

Information on the heat flow of Siberia is summarized and methods of geothermal measurements are briefly described. Based on the heat flow data (more than 1100 determinations), a map of the heat flow (in isolines) has been compiled. The description of the heat flow distribution and the interpretation of its features for Siberia as a whole and for its individual regions are proposed. The mean heat flow level for Siberia is 50 mW m(-2). Low heat flow, less than 50 mWm(-2), is typical for the central part of Siberia with Precambrian and Caledonian crust. The regions of younger crust characterize heat flow values exceeding the mean level, sometimes increasing up to 70-100 mWm(-2). The heat flow variations in Siberia are determined primarily by the history of its geological development (age of crust, nature and intensity of the manifestation of orogenic activity and rifting), by the structure and material composition of the crust, by processes of heat transfer during migration of fluids and also by variations in climate in the Neogene-Quarternary period.
