Studies have been made of the mineralogical and geochemical trends in the Au, Ag, Pb, Zn, Cu, and other element distributions by reference to the tailings stores at the Salair Mineral Beneficiation Corporation, which are examined as man-made deposits of nonferrous and noble metals. The mean contents and reserves of valuable components in the stores are given, and the prospects of extracting each of them are indicated. The forms taken by Au and Ag have been established, and also their technological and geochemical features, in particular the preferential association with certain grain size classes. The main sources of valuable-component loss in primary ore dressing have been determined.
