The authors studied individual composition of monoaromatic hydrocarbons from oils of the West Siberia found in Cretaceous and Jurassic reservoirs, n-Alkyl-, methylalkyl-, and ethylalkylbenzenes were identified among monoaromatic hydrocarbons. It was demonstrated that the data on the composition of alkylbenzenes, together with saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons-biomarkers, bear certain information on the biological sources and formation environment of oils.
