Аннотация

The possible negative impact of waste rock dumps on the environment was estimated for the Veduginskoe gold deposit which is prepared for development. It has been found that the waste rocks in contact with water may be a source of toxic elements (As, Sb, Zn, Cu, Ni, Co, Be). Definition of the fractions of exchange and water-soluble forms has proved the possibility of occurrence of the acid drainage flows from the planned damps. Study of waste rocks mineralogy identified the minerals (ulman-nite NiSbS, berthierite FeSb2S4, jamesonite FePb4Sb6S14 etc.) which are sources of toxic elements and which under the action of acid solutions can be broken up. Also elements sorbed on Fe-hydroxide which replaced many of the ore minerals of the deposit are in mobile forms.
